Sugar Maples Poem by Rodney Russ

Sugar Maples

Delightful to the eyes
On a sodden September
Without a hullabaloo,
A gathering camaraderie
With trees skiing
An unparalleled cubistic beauty
Budless as a Picasso painting
Baptized to the sound
Of mating bees
What lurks below
The green and yellow, mysterious
As the depths of the Atlantic
