Summer Days Poem by Khloe Chace

Summer Days

(The summer breeze blows over me,
As I sit outside in the yard.
The grass, the air, the sun, the trees.
Our days are outside playing cards.

The smell of mowed grass fills the air.
I jump in a pool of diamonds.
We're all living without a care,
Not thinking where we'll be in months.

Going to the beach whenever,
Swimming or laying on the beach.
Flirting, pick up lines so clever.
You never know who you may meet.

No school you have to fret about.
No one to tell you homework's due.
No body prying with their snouts,
No one to tell you what to do.

Splashing, tanning, whatever else.
It's summer, you don't think; you do.
No drama, no reason to dwell.
All else are as reckless as you.

Don't dread for school to come too fast.
Party til the night before the start.
You gotta make this summer last.
You deserved it, a year so hard
