Summer Time Poem by shameka jones

Summer Time

summer time
As summer takes the lead no more winter, spring or fall i sit in the house waiting on my friends to call
heat waves are hitting the pavement every time i scream.
parties are jumping every night and its mean
school is out and the sun is shining, flowers are blooming each and every day
ice cream is melting on my shoe, i sit back and watch the old people sing the blues
kids are playing basketball knowing that their parents will call
swimming on the beach what do i see oh i see this fat lady looking at me
