Sun Love Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

Sun Love

I wrote this poem when I was 15

The sun rises bright and clear
And all its shining glory looks so near
Love like the sun begins so crisp and new
And glows with happiness round us two

The noon sun is warn but worm
And a great restlessness is born
Love like the sun wears slowly away
But still glows with an inward ray

Evening soon breaks the day
And fear replaces the careless play
Love like the day soon grows old
And like a dying fire soon grows cold

A new day replaces the gloom
And weaves love tighter in the loom
If love survives the test it grows strong
And so it must for even a day in a life is long

Evening soon breaks the day
And fear replaces the careless play
Love like the day soon grows old
And like a dying fire soon grows cold

A new day replaces the gloom
And weaves love tighter in the loom
If love survives the test it grows strong
And so it must for every day in a life is long
