Sundari Poem by Mystic Qalandar

Sundari

Rating: 5.0

Ruby, coral-red, O Sundari—
title of the heart's deepest secret, O Sundari.
When love put on the robe of unbelief,
every buried mystery broke open, O Sundari.

Faith and unbelief met in one river;
love unfurled itself as your white sail, O Sundari.
This love is no child's toy—it asks for head, it asks for soul,
it takes the whole ransom, O Sundari.

Whoever felled himself utterly for you
rose thereafter to everlasting life, O Sundari.
You are the form and you are the meaning,
what reveals and what remains hidden, O Sundari.

Where am I? You alone are everywhere—
this is the soul's only secret, O Sundari.
From the dust of the heart to the farthest Throne
a single cry ascends: love alone is sovereign, O Sundari.

What painter before time gave you that face?
In you the Beloved's own glory moves, O Sundari.
Seeing your beauty every craftsman bowed,
his head slipped into his collar, O Sundari.

Ruby, coral, pearl and gem—
all are cheap beside your face, O Sundari.
A body carved of light, as if spring lived in the breast—
so fashioned, so breathing, O Sundari.

Are you a pearl, or the mirror of the Real?
His whole array folds into each atom, O Sundari.
Your beauty veiled within a form—
love kept its secret on the far side, O Sundari.

Light mingled here with light,
love reigns through the crown of beauty, O Sundari.
Sundari—ruby, coral-red, you are;
the Lord concealed His mysteries in you, O Sundari.
