Sunrise This Morning Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

Sunrise This Morning

Today the pallet wash translucent pink
Blended paints with purple casts
And wisps of gray paper streamers
After a while followed by the rising sun

Orange orb
Slowly rising hugely up out of ocean
And fills the day with whitest light
Then disappears behind the mist
Blinding optic nerves with new day bright

As witnessed once again the fading night
Today is come my eyes have seen the breaking light
And found the ocean green and rough
Observing all from my balcony sweet
A perfect vantage point to view suns easy feat

I set these views down with great delight
As I watch the morning banish night
And find the challenges hatched behind dark
That solves before me in the white daylight
