Swan Submerged Poem by Shirley Harrison

Swan Submerged

The elegance now gone from my mind
I'm left with the snakes
hungry snakes
slivering inside me
I don't know how to force them out
they are comfortable
and I am not
I want my elegance back
I miss her
I miss her quick wit and Intelect
I miss her pausing...
before hasty decisions,
I can't handle this anymore
I wasn't prepared for the change
when darkness shades
my happy aura
I search for her in my dreams
In the morror
even in the corner of a room
I'm going to find her
I want her back
before she drowns.
