Sweetest Perfection - Poem by Noelle Decuir
Through the eventide I feel I cannot leave you
Words softly spoken into the abyss they fade
Through these feelings everything in view
Careless, lines have been visibly made
Reaching out upon a beating heart
Pretending as though you didn't brush my hand
I have never been defenseless though I know my part
Spontaneously, this illusion had become grand
Struggling through myself only once more
Is there a faint possibility I could slip away?
Would you stay or would you leave beyond the door
This is how we should remain, forever and a day
Should I pretend that I am innocent?
Not tonight for all the rules have been bent
