Switch It Around Poem by Aimee Nell

Switch It Around

Again, this is much more a song than a poem.
-
Let's switch this around.
You said, you hurt.
Well don't we all?
You scream.
You cry.
Well, how would you feel,
Watching your best friend die?
-
Let's switch this around.
You said, you got a date with death,
The day you asked me out.
Well, how would you feel,
If I was the one
Pullin' the trigger?
-
Let's switch this around.
You said, the day is done,
Let's go for a ride, hon.
But I know
We won't be comin' back.
Well, how would you feel,
If I was the one
Pushing the pedal down?
-
Let's switch this around.
And you sit,
Holdin' the gun,
The bullet's loaded.
Just stop and think,
About who else you're killin'
As you pull the trigger...
Think!
How would you feel,
Standin' in the doorway,
Watching me bleedin?
Switch it around.
