Take Life Day By Day Poem by Ryann Blair

Take Life Day By Day

I think of death every night.
To me, death is a fright.
Sometimes at the thought I want to cry.
Yet, in the heat of the moment out of anger I’ll say I want to die.
I don’t understand why people want to kill themselves,
When they say they do I think of all those in bad health?
People who fight for their life’s every day,
But know their last day is soon coming their way….
Not even realizing how badly they didn’t want to die until they knew they would.
Then there are those who want & wish they could…
Wish they could escape from life,
That’s when they pick up the gun or the knife.
They place the gun to their head….
Blow one shot & their just gone, their dead.
Those who choose to use a knife,
Slit their wrist & their goes life….
I’ll say it again, i just don’t understand!
That’s why I’d always lend a hand.
I’d help someone who thinks inside they want to die.
I’d make them think of one reason why.
Why they’d want to end it now?
When they could think of so many other ways of how?
How to make life go a little more their way.
Then just take life, day by day.
