Take Me Back Poem by Emily Reid

Take Me Back

My feelings for you are unbelievably strong,
From day to night, in dreams and out of sight,
But then the taste becomes bitter,
Because I know you’re not here,
Maybe never will be, I just wish you’d be sincere,
I don’t understand, can’t you change your mind?
If you just opened your eyes, you’d know what to do,
I wish I could do something to let you know I’m here,
You need to think outside the box, possibilites not fear.
That what I feel sometimes, as if I were to lose you,
These feelings are intense, I wish you felt them too,
Sometimes I’m scared, scared of not being able to let you go,
I almost succeeded once but from there it just began to grow,
You don’t want me, but I need you,
It’s a chain reaction you see,
A cruel on, painfull and disappointing,
It’s the kind of thing where simple words can sting,
At the end we’ll probably all end up alone,
Wishing you had done something sooner,
Went back in time and shown you, what you have shown,
But it’s not up to me unfortunately,
It’s up to you, only you have the key,
Before it’s too late and you regret not doing anything,
Before it’s too late and I’m left with just memories racing,
Before it’s too late and you don’t regret anything…
