Take My Hand Poem by Chris Schleier, Jr.

Take My Hand

Rating: 3.5

Take my hand, I'll show you the way.

For, busy is the common day

and often does the view become

one that can lead you astray.

Take my hand, O benevolent man

performing your deeds as any man can

and choosing the good, to overcome

the perils, the dark, and the evil one's plan.

Take my hand when the outlook is bright.

Lead the world with candle light

and show yourself, my daughter or son,

the glory within your inner might!

Take my hand, when all has been lost.

Take my hand, no matter the cost.

For, with your faith, my will is done

For many, the path of salvation is crossed

and this is because you've taken my hand:

For, you are a beacon throughout my land

for others to witness: and moon and a sun

as you show them the way to make their stand!
