Tan Them Black - Poem by venessa ambrose

And all was made black.........

Tan them black
Pure romance of the sun's rays
Savoring all the pale cover
Of a coloured race
Bless them with a tan
Let the african crest
Grant succor to them
Those who need true beauty
Blackify their skins
With the true colour
Colour negro
The rainbow in union
Made black as black

The Masters in that aeon
demoralised the Niger tribe
Sailing along side its sacrificial purchase
From the niger's own waters
In batter a foul language is all they traded
Haven't they taken enough
What more is left than my pigment
Crafted art and history
Carted through the ages
Still the black of my skin
They taste to steal

Tan them black
Caress them with the knife of the sun
Strip In erotic worship
Of their blazing lust
And avenge my loss
Oho! Raging light
make them me
Tear the hymen of their flesh
And cloth them with my stigma
The ankara of my vein
And gele of my make!
