Tariffs Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Tariffs

A game of walls, a tangled thread,
Across the sea, the tariffs spread.
Some shops overseas will feel the sting,
A little less fresh cash they bring.

But closer home, a different plight,
A price tag climbs, a painful sight.
The shopper sighs, the purse feels thin,
American pockets, losing within.

The promise made, a booming sound,
Yet higher bills are all around.
A tangled web, a twist of fate,
The ones who pay? Right at the gate.
