Teach Me How To Love Again Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Teach Me How To Love Again

I've got to get something off my chest;
I want to put some things to rest.
Don't want to shed these tears and sweat;
I want to love, but I'm not there yet.

I hear The Outfield sing "Your Love, "
and the words they wrote fit like a glove.
They sing "...don't wanna lose your love tonight, "
and I want their words to help me see the light.

I need to learn how to love again.
I've known love before; I knew how then.
I'd like to think this is my season.
Being able to love gives life more reason.

God, help me move past singing the blues;
You know my past, how I've paid my dues.
Please, teach me how to love again;
to share Christ's power forever, Amen.

Jesus, help me let go, let God, and be blessed.
