Tears Poem by Mad Gone

Tears

While those, who you had to sadly leave behind,
Remember you fondly for that twinkle in your eye.
The laughing face and that precious smile,
If only there for that brief while.
With the morning sun set once again to rise,
The jigsaw piece still missing, we awake to realise.
As beautiful as the petals of the rose or the nightingale that sings,
The world it seems is now oblivious to the absent set of angel wings.

While you are no longer here within our daily grind,
We know you are always near, now within our indebted mind.
Autumnal winds have long since cleared the barren trees,
Winter snow falls have long since covered up the falling leaves.
While summer failed to scorch the land and dry our tears,
The seasons still come and go and bring the passing of the years.
As time and life still pass as if they are a shadow,
The spring will once again bring life upon the meadow.

With the passing of each and everyone the only certain guarantee,
Our memories now more precious as they are but all we leave.
So fill each day with your laughter, your smiles, that twinkle in your eye,
Don’t waste precious time asking that unimportant question why.
Remember to do those little things each day that loved ones find so dear,
For when we are no longer here, these are what will always keep us near.
Throw out all those silly inhibitions and stagnating fears,
Sing out with unabated breath and cry, but only joyous unrelenting tears.
