There was a tear
I thought would never dry
The lie was not
In the shedding
The truth was in the honest
Hurting eye.
Try not to cry
It will be one less
Tear
For Him
To dry.
Try not to despair
It will be one less
Moment
For Him
To repair.
Try not to let the heart break
It will be one less
Piece
For Him
To take.
He takes every piece of your heart now
He dries every tear now
He mends every heart now
He is like that forever.
Give Him one more kiss now
Kiss the Son lest He be angry.
Kiss Him with a thousand kisses
And one more.
Not one tear falls
But He knows
He keeps the drops
In a bottle.
He holds the water
From your eyes
For a day
When face to face
You will see Him
And know that the tears mattered
And they were scattered
Abroad
And now all brought together
They find meaning
In the times when they were shed
Tear to tear
Wedded
And in the shadow of His smile
They produce
Showers
Of hope and eternal joy.
He made the snowflakes all and not two alike
You made the tears and not two alike
Each one tasted differently
And each one found its course
Flowing down your face in that day
When you were lost in your lonely desert
And now the rain
Has made flowers
Blossom
In a dry and wasted land.
Two eyes
Countless tears
Counted by the fingers
The digits of God.
So many and no more
When you have given your last tear
His first smile
Escapes
And makes all your old things new.
There will be no new tears in Heaven
The old ones will have been dried
By the hand that created joys to take their place.
Eye has not seen
Ear has not heard
Through tears
Through all the noise
Joyful that you made
And laid aside.
New eyes
A new body in Heaven
Tears
And how we will miss them
When they have been dried
And heartache was only a lie
We believed for so short awhile
In this vail of tear down here
Longing for a farther country
That was only a brief shadow away.
With all of my heart
It wept all day long
I panted
Seeking all of my days
For your Eyes
Your Ways
And I hung all my hopeful
Tears
In the trees of Babylon
By the River
That flowed from your Side
Until the hail
Came
And I knew you then as King.
I will lift up my teary eyes unto your Throne
And I will trust you with grief that has passed
Me by.
Each tear
Was a prism
And every drop
Had its own rainbow
Of promise.
Grace was greater
Than the eye shed blood
Never was blood so easy to see through
Than when it blinded the human eyes.
I could not at times
See through the water
The flood
Held me captive
Then I learned to swim
With eyes turned toward You.
From everlasting to everlasting
You are the Father of Tears
You made tears for drying with Your love
You made eyes to forget them.
What is an eye without a tear
And
What is a tear without an eye?
When I close my eyes
And shut the tears out
I get homesick
And with them closed
Another one comes
And it is the key
That lets the crying in.
To cry at night
When You hear me in the dark
Holding on until tomorrow
I close my eyes
In the twinkling
You are there.
Tears call You
And You answer.
Tears that were so silent
Alarmed Heaven
In prayers.
What a little water course can do
It is going to rain
Tears filling our hearts
With friendly fire
When one tears falls into Hell
It is enough
To let the Legions
Know that God
Gave a care.
God made a whisper
Heard
Around His universe
And it was the tear that brought us home
Tears laid out like crumbs
All around the world
Rain down
Tears rain down
And cover sin
With transparent
Moisture.
Never be a million miles away from a tear
The water bottle
Sustained
You and your thirsty
Lips
Tasted
New wine.
In a tear
We found the greater drug
And we had the bread
And we had the blood.
And we held in our hands
God's first tear
And after that
His last.
If I don't bring You glory
Let me bring You a tear
That I cried
And hid in You.
You never wore a diamond
But your eyes shed a necklace
Of greater value.
Humanity
Has cried
Greater oceans
And all the tears flow into the sea
Of mystery.
Where do tears go
When they dry?
Their meaning is left behind
And drying extinguishes
Nothing.
There was a tear
I thought would never dry
The lie was not
In the shedding
The truth was in the honest
Hurting eye.
You cried a tear
You paid the price
For seeing
Life like it was
You dried a tear
You have accepted the gift
For understanding
What life could be.
Blessed are the driers of tears
Their eyes saw the rain
And held the thunder
Of a new day.
