Temporary Poem by Thomas Shelton

Temporary

It's hard to understand
This life is more than just pain
Trials that test our temperament

Our minds are collective
Despite not being collected

We are separate lengths of wire
Trying to connect ourselves together

We are animals feasting like cannibals
Feeding on this canvas of the tangible

Heartbreak, heartache,
Rain, shine, and earthquake
It's only temporary
