Thank You - Poem by Amanda Boucher

Dear Lord, today I stand before You my head bowing down
Some things I don’t understand bring me down and make me frown
Some things I have no control over but it makes me sad
Some people don’t care and what they do is very bad
But still I find the need to thank You
Because we need to focus on the things we do
So Lord, I thank You for every little but precious thing I receive
The smile from my loved one this morning
The fact that I am alive and have You as my savior
I thank You for the sun that’s warming me
I thank You for the beautiful things I may see
Dear Lord, I thank You for the knowledge of Your presence
In Your own special way You speak to us and guide us
You give us signs to show us You are involve in our lives
Lord, I pray for those who don’t know You,
Please take them by the hand and give them Your guidance
Please let them experience Your love and know that it’s You
I long for them to be happy and feel Your presence in all they do
I long for them to feel what’s it like to share that same love with others
Lord, I long for them to believe in Your powers
Lord, I thank You because You would do all this and more
I thank You because You touched me and lead me
