That Is All Poem by Jaime Montanez Salcedo

That Is All

Long she had been away, free of regret
From her weakness that promptly had begun;
Fearing his own thoughts made him to forget,
That her passionate favors he had won,
A never ending ardor, and last of all
Those bright, brown eyes as he could recollect,
Such mischievousness that did his soul enthrall,
But chose to give up no known what to expect.
At times he understood why she had gone,
All the same, felt his heart contract with pain,
A bewildered thought consequent thereon,
Brought nagging guilt from which he could not abstain.
Yet her deception, time cannot redeem,
So that is all, sole a memory of dream.
