A Moan from Mona
Like most people in my time,
my carbon footprint was small.
I was also a woman
So, I was treated like shit.
Leonardo painted me
then hung on to the artwork -
left it to the King of France
when I belong in Florence.
They deface my image
with glasses and moustaches,
accuse me of following
them round with my eyes. As if!
Why would I ever bother?
It's them who form their long queues
to gawp at me and pass on.
What harm have I ever done
to deserve this daft demo?
Bombarded with orange soup!
Will that save our poor planet?
Of course it bloody well won't!
