The Angels Exist - Poem by Masa MbathaOpasha

The Angels Exist!

I was walking on the beach in the middle of the night
Looking for life among the sea drops wet of sand
I wanted an angel to come along with me
Far away beyond the horizons of my dreams
I felt the earth impregnated with its restless lies
I felt crushed under the weight of my indifference
Then, suddenly, a fire of stars disguised as a woman
Illuminated my steps indicating the path of my journey
I felt strange force fields turn around my face
A voice that seemed to be riding the waves then said:
'The angels are real!
They are those you meet on any street
while walking submerged by your thoughts
They are humble, often shy…
They do not know how to ask but only give
Sometimes you see them cry…
Sometimes they smile at you
without saying a word…
they are often moved to compassion
by everything beautiful in the world
They have no fear of failure… this is their success!
They are people who love life simply as it is,
with neither claims nor conditions
if not only
the greater good of others everywhere…
They never feel disappointed,
nor ever are deluded
by any stupid perfidious destiny
They never wonder about anything
But live wonderfully
every fragment of their existence,
Finishing and restarting everything
without being aware…
Their pockets are full of only hope,
The hope dressed up with the same colors
of all the rainbows of our lives '
