The Apple And I Poem by Charles Eastland

The Apple And I

Rating: 4.5

THE APPLE AND I

I walk in Autumn
and stop to admire
this inked sketch
branch and circle

Apple as red balloon
in a fleet blue sky
floats the last color
before winter white

I deep silent walker
sailing my slow mind
just you and me apple
life on a country road

I as bound to flesh
as you are to fruit
we symbols of earth
this our fair moment

In ways we are alike
survivors to the end
involved in cycles
from sky to ground
