I wish I could carry the moon...
for the moon alone
is enough
to brighten the whole world...
If I could,
I would transform
into a gigantic bald eagle,
rising with mighty wings
into the vast heavens...
I would lift this wonder of the sky
and carry it across the globe,
to the places where light is needed most,
abolishing darkness wherever it hides...
I would rise above mountains and oceans.
I would fly beyond borders...
I would carry the moon
to valleys that have forgotten hope,
to cities dimmed by sorrow,
to hearts wandering alone...
I would release its silver light
across the waiting earth...
For darkness may appear powerful,
but it always retreats
when the majestic moon arrives...
And if I could be known for anything,
let it be this,
The bearer of light...
It does not take a thousand stars
to change the night...
Sometimes
one moon…
one light…
one act of compassion
is enough
to brighten
the whole world...
