The Beheaded French Poem by M S Newhadney

The Beheaded French

Dedicated to the French teacher who lost
his life for freedom of speech some days ago

Telling the truth leads to execution sometimes
Showing a picture results in assassination at times
Something important you wanted to teach
Somewhere significant you intended to reach
But the world is full of pride and prejudice still
As Jane Austin proved it without the need to kill
Our world can't still stand even a cartoon
So it's urgent to move together to the moon
In the history lesson you referred to the role of guillotine
People still tend to use it eagerly from Seine to Rhine
Due to narrate it, we might need someone like Shakespeare
Before it is used violently against Danton and Robespierre
We sound to have failed in great task of enlightenment
That is why we have stuck to a fake development
What a shame! We lost you dear teacher
What an unsafe world! We have to live in fear
