The Black Dress Poem by Jessica Henning

The Black Dress

Rating: 5.0

the black that fills the dress she wears
the red upon her lips
the secret that this young girl bares
may make her lose her grips

the smile she wears to hide her pain
the paint seh wipes away
afraid to break the bars of vain
theres nothing left to say

the dress she wears to hide the bruise
the one within her heart
the pain she takes away with booze
is tearing her apart
