The Blood Of The Lamb

The priests of old would offer blood –Heb.9: 7
For self, and public sin
They’d sacrifice just as they should –Heb.9: 9+10: 11
Yet still they’d fail to win –Heb.10: 4

Then God sent Christ upon the scene –Heb.9: 11
Replacing goats, with grace –Heb.10: 4
Man’s advocate, God’s go between –Heb.9: 15
To reach the human race –Heb.7: 25

Christ blood released, from Moses’ law –Heb.8: 13
From which rebellion grew –Heb.3: 15
Yet since the temple’s curtain tore –Mt.27: 51
God’s covenant is new –Heb.6: 12

The law became a shadow then –Heb.10: 1
Of things that were to be –Heb.8: 5
The way to God was free again –Heb.10: 20
To such as you and me –Heb.2: 17

The changes! Jesus’ blood has brought –Mt.11: 25
Are good and light to bear –Mt.11: 30
Yet who’ll believe the true report? –Isa.53: 1
God’s promises to share –Heb.4: 1+10: 36

Without the blood, is nothing done –Heb.9: 7
We’re still in filth and sin –Heb.9: 25
Release; comes through The Father’s Son –Heb.9: 14
God’s Holy Lamb within –Heb.10: 17

Man’s temple copy had to burn –Heb.9: 7,24
So God’s could come to stand –Heb.3: 6
Now through the Spirit, man can learn
His ways to understand –Heb.3: 7-15

For truth to come! We first must seek
Must eat, what can’t be bought
But every day, not once a week
As Jesus said we ought –Heb.5: 9…
