The Bridge Poem by Orville Phillips

The Bridge

If all we have is dreams, then let them live:
Our life, our universe – ours to explore.
A world of dreams is all I have to give,
Each day is a star for me to adore.
A bridge would lead me to you I would pray,
Maybe someday that dream we will visit.
To walk that bridge for ever and a day –
Upon eternity bridge we will sit.
Crossing the bridge that took so long to make –
Over an expanse of silvery-blue,
That leads to your crimson smile when you wake,
And into the arms of beautiful you.
If I were to find that you’re not the one –
I’d wake and find that all my dreams had gone.
