The Bright Side Poem by Dipankar Dasgupta

The Bright Side

As I stare at all the faces
Hidden behind the mask
Always plays hide and seek
Will surface without an ask

It is a mix you have to accept
There is no running away
Like the sun behind the clouds
Wind of life will make it sway

I know this so very well
Then why do I always forget
Like a whirlpool it sucks me in
Dissolves into a darkened set

But there is a crack in the canvas
A streak of light passing slow
I grasp it with my inner strength
Light a lamp and bask in its glow

The significant has a new meaning
Convoluted knots open with ease
The uphill road appears to flatten
Old and rotten momentarily cease

Life is not all worries and fear
It's sprinkled with good and sweet
We have to learn to travel a road
That is more hope and less defeat
