The Candlestick Poem by Tajma Hall

The Candlestick

Coves covered with moss
steamy river beds
a mark to the lost
the ship points north
down
in the cabin
I have yet a candlestick to run across
my attentions sails elsewhere
that bird lapping
intruding my thoughts
my mind eye wonders
back to that night
we both covered in the dark
searching each other
our faces
with no candlestick for light
I'd close my eyes
........still exist
