The Cat Purrs Poem by R. Ariffin

The Cat Purrs

The cat purrs for mercy and compassion
That doesn’t leave much of impression
The crows bask gloriously into the night
Starless and inept, such a depressing sight
The wolf howls in melodious melancholy
Begging to the moon to set it free
The midnight breeze dances in cold emotion
Filling the mind with heatless sensation
I stand and watch you pass me by
Unable to wave and say goodbye
