The Cause Of Causes Poem by Mystic Qalandar

The Cause Of Causes

Place your trust in God,
for His unseen hand moves
through whole creation
which is his manifestationt.

Do not lean upon your knowledge,
nor rest upon your meditation—
they may guide you,
but they are not your foundation.
Even your master is but a sign,
pointing to the Way.
Seek Him alone, trust Him alone;
for your purpose lies in Him,
and within Him rests
the hidden truth of your soul.

Man's highest dignity
is to know himself
as nothing but an instrument.
Until he learns this,
he remains a stranger
to his own essence.
This is man's tragedy—
his ignorance of what he is;
yet the moment he awakens,
he begins to live in harmony:
within himself,
with others,
and with all creation.

Do not cry, "I wish to see God,
distant and hidden."
The kingdom of God is within you.
And if your eyes are open,
you will see it shining outside you as well—
woven through every form,
stitched with the thread of Oneness.

Do not dwell in the illusion of attainment.
You are neither other, nor separate.
Without this knowing,
you remain asleep,
unaware of your own light.

The highest attainment is this:
to see that there is nothing to attain,
for the truth is already yourself.
But if you wander in confusion—
asking what to seek,
why to seek,
and where to seek—
you have lost the way.

Here unfolds the mystery of unity:
the knower, the known,
and the knowledge—are not three.
The attainer, the attained,
and attainment—are not three.
The one who remembers,
the remembrance,
and the Remembered—are not three.
In Oneness there is no counting.

What an honor,
what strength of spirit,
to place your trust
in the One without second.

As Rumi taught:
Though fire, air, earth, and water
seem lifeless to our eyes,
they are His servants,
ever at work in obedience.

And beyond this he revealed:
Man, when awakened by reason,
sees causes.
But one who sees with the inner eye
beholds the Cause of causes—
the Source of all.

God is the eternal Cause.
Whoever turns to Him,
sees therein
the root of every root,
the beginning without beginning.
