The Challenge Poem by Sydney Daniels

The Challenge

The challenge
Man against man
Team against team
The tougher spirit is the victor.

Pushing and shoving,
Driving and drilling
Through walls of flesh and desire
Who wants it more gets it.

Momentum and luck
Blind chance against calculated cunning
It can turn in a second
But leave forever scars.

The prize, the pinnacle
The ultimate goal
Worth sacrifice, injury,
Valor and tears.
