A lone mountaineer
climbs Mount Everest.
White clouds cover
the white peak;
the summit
soars into great heights.
Old stars
seem almost to touch
his crown.
The Sīmurgh
meditates alone
on the moonlit moor.
An unknown eagle
cries through the mist
at Everest's summit,
saying to worldly folk:
"Come here;
free yourselves
from Delusion's dust."
