The Dark Has Fallen Poem by Noah Body

The Dark Has Fallen

The dark has fallen
Night has come
The sun is gone
When/if it will return is unknown

Inside my cold, dark cave
Not even stars give a twinkle
Of light to break the gloom

The evil dark is oppressive
It's weight drags at my soul
Twists my thoughts
Can't even trust my brain
For it's a treacherous beast

I've shackled myself
With bonds of loneliness and despair
I built this prison
To protect the world from me
It works all too well
For I've thrown away the key

Here is where I'll dwell
Forever and a day plus one
This is my new life
That I brought on myself
Love it, hate it, it matters not
Pain is all
