The Day She Went Away Poem by Ayieneiya

The Day She Went Away

The night was over
And the storm was through
She slipped from her bed
And peeked at her window.

From the sheltered shadows
Of the world never seen
The un-curtained crevices
Of a world never been

The dawn was breaking
Foggy mist covered the place
With arms outstretched
She welcomed the rising sun
From the mist-covered east.

Dogs barked
Fowls flew….
As the warmth touched
Her icy violet skin
She evaporated,
Disappeared.

…And they continued to curl
Underneath warm comforters
Failing to notice
That she has vanished.
