The Diplomacy Of Double Moral 1
They came with compasses and cathedral hymns,
Preaching salvation with a merchant's grin.
A map unfurled — its borders sharp as blades,
Drawn not for people, but for profit made.
Where visitors claimed the mantle of the throne,
Where refugees of empire seized the zone,
And those who fled their storms across the sea
Declared themselves the rulers of the free.
They spoke of "civilizing" distant shores
While loading ivory through the cargo doors.
Two faces: one of charity and prayer,
The other weighing gold in London air.
They "civilized" our stories, gods, and rites,
Replacing Amadioha's thundered might
With foreign saints in imported shrines,
A trade of spirits masked as the divine.
Africa watched the ink divide her skin
And knew the gospel was a trade within.
Every poem on history and resistance
Reveals the empire's practiced double distance
A sharp, unflinching lens on Western claims,
An archive of decisions dressed as "aims, "
A ledger where the moral lines are crossed,
And truth records the human cost.
For governments preach virtue when they choose,
Yet act in ways their sermons would refuse.
And Africa, remembering every scar,
Knows justice is a mirror of who we are.
Where are the Christians in UK today?
Who and who Identify as Christians in EU today? ?
