Upon the ledge and crag he sings,
Beauty, boldness and proudness he brings,
The danger below, the thrashing of the waves,
So many have fallen into their graves,
He's big and so proud, with his young at his side,
On the cliff edge, in a crack where they hide,
Flying for food, so far and so near,
His partner all caring, loving and dear,
He keeps a true vigil, both day and at night,
To ward off his enemies and give them a fright,
He protects all his family, until they have grown,
Then watches them leave, until the last one has flown.
