The Economics Of Being Awake While Others Sleep Poem by Kyle Schlicher

The Economics Of Being Awake While Others Sleep

while others are sleeping
i am awake thinking.

solitude in shades of grey
reflections
in blackened light.

blue images revolving
through
this space,

trickling down
as
promised.

my breathing
and
my
heart beating,

are the only sounds i hear.

loneliness
and
remoteness,
the price paid
to
be
alone
and
awake
