The Edge Of Nothing Poem by Harry St Vincent Beechey

The Edge Of Nothing

I stood on the edge of Nothing
And gazed at the emptiness within.
I found it difficult to believe
That Darkness is the absence of light;
Cold, the absence of heat.
Can it be that Light repels a massive and encroaching Darkness
And warmth drives off insatiable Cold?
May the light of Love defy dark loneliness
And warm affection challenge cold indifference!
H.St.Vincent Beechey.
