The Encounter Poem by Heather Rhoden

The Encounter

Rating: 2.0

Everytime I feel your touch,
I feel the pain.
Each time I hear your voice,
I sense my shame.
When I'm near you,
It seems to happen again.
I feel his painful touch
Trailing against my skin.
His eyes traveling across me.
His attempt to steal
What I could never regain.
His gaze I seem to feel
Burning into my core.

When you embrace me,
I feel my fears.
Each time we kiss,
I taste my tears.
When you come close,
The encounter seems to repeat.
His search for my innocence.
My fruitless attempts to scream.
His mouth bruising my lips,
Silencing my cries.
The walls closing in,
Crushing me from every side.
