The Eyes Of The Mirror Poem by Ashmit Singh Rautela

The Eyes Of The Mirror

A young child looks in the mirror
I see the sparkles in his eyes,
Those eyes are brimming with dreams
And eager to blossom like a flower

As season change, time passes by
The sad reality of life strikes him
Taking away his childhood dreams and hopes
Far and far,
He stares in the mirror as adult
All I see are his gloomy eyes
And his shattered hopes,
Amidst all this chaos,
I see him sowing
A new seed of hope again

The Eyes Of The Mirror
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
During childhood our dreams seem easy to accomplish just with achieving adulthood. Its only when we reach adulthood, we realise the reality and our childhood hopes and dreams goes far and far from us. Still amidst shattered hopes we sow a new seed of hope as adult for our future. This poem is based on the point of view of the mirror. In this poem 'I' represents the mirror. As the mirror observes the child growing up. The mirror notices the change of thoughts of a child from childhood to adulthood.
