The Fight For Life

It’s hard to lay the world aside
Allow one’s self decay
Live life as Jesus’ loyal bride
And walk the righteous way

It’s hard the devil to forsake
Escape the snares of life
A lifetime habit loose to shake
And be a faithful wife

What cause can bring a sinner’s eyes?
To leave the path of hell
Believe in God and paradise
And taste Salvation’s Well

Just how on earth can this be done?
What saviour can be found?
Just how can slaves be free to run?
From that which has them bound

For this we need to see The Light!
We need God’s Lamb as Lord
His awesome strength to stand and fight
His Flame and two-edged sword

We must be blind to Satan’s way
See through his dark disguise
Be wise to all he has to say
And deaf to all his lies

To journey on to Heaven’s shore
We need to bend the knee
Lock tight to Satan every door
Give Christ the only key

When in the Lord we place our trust
When faith in Christ is high
Our enemies will turn to dust
All worldly cares will die…
