The Final Return Poem by Ehbi Fuentes

The Final Return

Finally, I have returned
I promised you, didn't I?
Before I left and turned behind
You said you'll wait and we'll be fine

Finally, I can see you again
That's what we wished for, am I right?
Before I waved and said goodbye
You said you cried but you'll be fine

At long last, I'm here outside
But it's an empty house, there's no light
The door is locked, no one inside
I guess what you said are all lies
