The First Casualty Poem by Will B a Poet

The First Casualty

I wasn't there but I heard, about the first casualty.
Sacrificed, along with Love and Hope.

We know that Love cannot exist without Truth
and as a result, there is no Hope.
But there are times when we all run from Truth,
especially when it draws near,
to examine our hearts
our thoughts,
our consciences.

Are we, at peace with ourselves?
If not, how can we be at peace with others.

There is a war that rages in the hearts of men,
it has raged from the beginning,
their hearts cannot contain it,
as a result it comes bleeding through
and we all suffer.

Who his innocent?
He once lived and was called The Truth.
But they hated him.
He exposed their lies,
so they killed him, a willing sacrifice for love.

But he rose again, to give us all hope.
Don't be another casualty,
seek him and you will be one of the few who find
PEACE.

I was asked to read a poetry at a peace event and wrote this poem for the occasion,
it shows that Gods way is superior to ours and is the only way to true peace, which starts with the individual and God.
