The First New Year Poem by Kevin Patrick

The First New Year

From the void
Infinity spoke;
"Let there be light"

Then a spark woke
The greatest firework
Burst into a fusion
Of primeval colours
into Neutrons, Protons and Electrons
Flared a quagmire in a subatomic party zone
Then came the kisses
of photonic afterglow
Strung by the strings of
Atomic confetti
Reality cooled,
Time was born from the brew
Accelerated matter
Sang Into mobs of starry chatter
As Crowds of galaxies sprang into waves of auld lang syne
Holding hands as they parted from the ether they sprang
Altogether one forever, from beginning to end
Everything was one in creations celebration

And For one second the whole universe was time square
