The Flowery Waves Poem by Pradip Saikia

The Flowery Waves

[Poetic reaction after listening to the flute recital of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia]

From which cavern this voice has come bolting
A stream of snow that paints the heart

Still world
Tranquil sea

Has the Sun descended
Or
Has set somewhere

A tree got shaken upto its roots

On our pallid face of colourless thoughts
A cold fire

Suddenly a ray of light

In the unclosed eyelids
A dancing sky
Approaching with lightning

About to fall down
The moonlight clad rain of Agiathuti

Whom to say
On what wharf has the magic boat tied up

From which sea
The waves of yellow Gulas flowers
Comes flying
