The Forgotten Past Poem by nick feiner

The Forgotten Past

Sitting there in defiance
breaking all but our alliance
hoping its all not for nothing
pushing away, it all means nothing

trying hard to stay afloat
building a castle forgetting the moat
i forged an important trust
that you thought was less than a must
all that is left is nothing

i want to miss the old days
i want to care about what happened
i could really care less

i want to want you here
i want to fight for you
i want to love you again
but i could really care less

bleeding with open eyes
cutting all of my ties
you will never find my heart again
not as easy this time

driving me from our past
taking me away
you cut right where it hurts
leaving me to bleed away

But now its all over
done and thrown away
i leave it in the past
pushing it back to stay
