The Fragrance Of Presence Poem by Mystic Qalandar

The Fragrance Of Presence

When silence
entered my breaths,
that too became a celestial melody—
every particle
humming the raag of the 'Kun! ' command.

Then your voice came,
as if from Throne to Footstool—
a cascade of light descending.

When the eye of the night blinks,
I see you beyond the spheres—
in the laughter of the stars,
in the lap of the moon;
the memory of the Light of Eternity hides there.

You are that smile which the Lord,
at the dawn of creation,
through the Muhammadan Spirit,
imprinted upon the universe.

When I close my eyelids,
upon the blue sky's reflections
your image emerges.

As galaxies rotate,
the wave of your touch grazes all.
Every planet witnesses
your silent revolution;
every heaven whispers
your unspoken language.

The boundary between
dream and wakefulness has faded:
in dreams, separation dissolves,
in wakefulness, union arcs without end.

I know—
you are the Incomparable,
the Most Beautiful;
and every beauty is your reflection,
a bridge to the Beauty of the Lord.

When the breeze touches my cheek,
it feels as if my mother's gentle hand
awakens me from deep slumber.

The thresholds of my house,
the walls, the courtyard—
all breathe in the shadow
of your presence.

I am still that child of the beginning,
awakened by the echo of "balā" to:
'Am I not your Lord? '—
the essence of humanity,
that teaches:
servitude is man's true crown.

The Muhammadan Reality,
center of illumined heavens,
in whose radiance my heart
became the first lamp,
now turns every particle
into your mirror—
in movements, in silences,
in the rhythm of inspiration,
in the expanse of memories,
your fragrance dissolves.

Your remembrance,
the pearl in the heart's treasure,
guides even the stars
in their sacred orbit.

And though you are the reality of:
'There is nothing like Him, '
within me, you shine like a minaret—
like the unseen root—
both Origin and Destination—
where galaxies dissolve
and souls descend
into the valley of peace.
