The Friendly Lion Poem by Benjamin Lees

The Friendly Lion

On a cold and snowy night,
I heard a loud BANG,
"What was that? " I asked myself full of terror,
It can't be thy mother as she isn't in the house.
But it also can't be thy father as he is in work,
Who it it then? I asked myself,
With hands shaking.
Suddenly I heard a lion roar,
How was there a lion in thy mother and thy father's house?
I asked myself.
It must have got through the window.
I was about to call the pest control,
until he said "Hi I am Jimmy Lion, but who are thou?
I said, " I am Harold."
The lion said, "Nice to meet thou but I must be off as thy family needs me."
Then the lion said, "Thanks for having me."
I said, " Your welcome." Then I said, " Goodbye see thee again soon."
Last of all, just before he left, I said, "Thou will always be treasured in thine heart."
